Leederville Carnival

The streets of Leederville will light up and come alive on Sunday 1 December for the 2013 Light Up Leederville Carnival, presented by Leederville Connect and the City of Vincent. This free event will take over the Leederville town centre with entertainment and attractions for all ages from 12pm – 8pm.

We were blown away by last year’s event with 24,000 people descending upon the Leederville town centre. This year there will be plenty more

  • market stalls
  • entertainment
  • kid’s activities
  • art & urban installations
  • food and many more things to experience and enjoy!

It’s free entry and kicks off from midday to 8pm, concluding with the lighting up of Leederville’s lights.

We love Leederville and invite you, your family and friends to join in the fun spirit of this community event and help us celebrate all things Leederville!

Food, music, fashion, art and children’s entertainment will line the streets, alleyways and hidden nooks of Leederville throughout the day, culminating in the ‘lighting up’ of new Christmas lights and decorations as night falls. Celebrity chef Anna Gare will take part in cooking demonstrations with Leederville’s best food traders.

This year, the Carnival expands to cater for over 30,000 people who are expected to attend the carnival across the afternoon and evening. Locals, families and visitors are welcome to enjoy a relaxing, eclectic, vibrant and free community event that represents the unique character of Leederville.

The streets will be closed off to traffic along Oxford St (between Vincent and Leederville Parade) and the main corner area of Newcastle St (up to Duende, including Carr Place The main stage will be situated at this corner – taking the form of an open top double-decker bus!
