The Light Up Leederville Carnival presented by Alcohol.Think Again. is brought to you by the hardworking members of Leederville Connect. Leederville Connect is made up of local residents and businesses committed to make Leederville an outstanding urban village that is alive and a better place in which to live, work, and hang out. The Carnival is just one of our activities. We also bring people together to create vibrant local streets, organise forums and advocate for the community’s interests in the design and future planning of the area.

Throughout the year we support the local traders, businesses and community organisations within Leederville, and the Carnival is their time to shine! Inside this program you’ll find special deals, freebies and signature food specials from our locals on Dec 6, and look for them on the Carnival map (centre pages).

David Galloway, Chair, Leederville Connect

Leederville is one of Perth’s most vibrant urban villages – and we’re very proud of it too. It’s a town centre with a beating heart, a bit of grunge and grit, and a great sense of community.

Community events like the Carnival offer so much to so many, from the revellers that attend to the organisers and volunteers that drive it - and to the locals who feel the connection and energy long before and after the event.

Light Up Leederville doesn’t just help put this great café, leisure and retail strip on the map, it also brings different communities together. And without the support from locals through Leederville Connect, a community event like this, simply, could not exist.

I encourage anyone interested in making Leederville better, whether you’re a local or a regular visitor, to get involved via Leederville Connect.

Come and say hello at the Vincent stall – and enjoy the day!

Carnival goers are urged to bring their riding legs as the Light Up Leederville Carnival presented by Alcohol.Think Again. expands into new and exciting territory in 2015. The bold new initiative in partnership with Synergy will power the 80,000-person Carnival using only renewable energy sources. Synergy intends to incorporate a number of different renewable energy options to powering the Leederville Carnival; with all stages and vendors to be powered off pedal, solar, wind and recycled oil energy sources. The Carnival and Leederville Connect commend Synergy in joining the Carnival to take this positive step forward into and beyond the 21st Century.
